Room Parent Volunteers
Room parents serve as liaison between the teacher and classroom parents during the year, and organize and take pictures at events and activities for the class. Each class has two room parents. As a courtesy to other potential room parents, a parent typically may not serve in more than one classroom per school year. Interested in serving as a Room Parent? You can sign-up during Back-to-School Sign-up (BSSU), or contact the Room Parent Chair.

Volunteer shifts include library shifts (recurring monthly) and classroom party helpers (one-time shifts). Other one-time specific opportunities will be communicated by the teacher which may include mystery readers and field trip helpers. Opportunities are added throughout the year, so be sure to check back often.
To sign-up for these shifts, Hyer utilizes VSP (Volunteer Scheduler Pro), which provides a convenient platform to manage your volunteer schedule for classroom and event-specific activities. VSP allows you to view your personal schedule, view the posted opportunities and their schedule, view rosters, find substitutes and view and change your personal settings. You can also receive automatic email reminders of your volunteer assignments. To sign-up for a shift, please login to VSP.
